Artists' Residencies at Loudoun Libraries

Loudoun Arts and Loudoun County Public Library are pleased to announce the resumption of their unique Artist-in-Residency Program. In our COLLAB atelier project, selected artists have enjoyed three month long rent-free residencies at Loudoun Libraries. COLLAB offers four residency periods each year. Artists are encouraged to plan interactions with collaborators and other users of the space during their three-month residency. Residencies are awarded based on the quality of the artists' proposals, with special consideration given to artists willing to collaborate with partners on at least one project during the residency. This program is not limited to visual artists. Performers, writers, musicians, and makers are also encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in cross-media collaborations. Artists are also encouraged to document and share their experiences during the residency. The library makerspaces are open to the public seven days a week and open until 9pm six nights per week. The spaces have work tables, tools, and access to 3-D printers display space, storage space, and other technologies. During the three-month residency, library staff will work with the artist to create an event, class, exhibit or presentation reflecting the artist's project. Resident artists will be allowed to display and sell artwork from the studio spaces. LCPL and the Loudoun Arts will promote resident artists' events through their website and other electronic media.

Gallery One Seeks Solo or Group Show Proposals

The Arts Advisory Committee (AAC), on behalf of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, seeks proposals for solo or group exhibitions at Gallery One. Gallery One is located on the first floor of the Loudoun County Government Center. Artists must reside in Loudoun County to exhibit. There is no fee to apply or exhibit at Gallery One. All 2D and 3D media will be considered with no set theme for exhibitions. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Call for Teen Art Exhibitions - Brambleton Library's Micro Art Gallery

Calling all talented Loudoun County teens ages 12-19! Brambleton Library's Micro Art Gallery invites teen artists to propose solo exhibitions of their original artwork or performances. Imagine your creations seen by the tens of thousands of patrons who visit the library monthly! We seek tiny artworks (under 4" x 4") such as photography, sculpture, drawing, and jewelry for display. Short digital performances, around 2 minutes long – including animation, video, music, dance, and spoken word – are also welcome on our interactive kiosk. Selected teens are offered a one-hour art reception for their family, friends, and patrons. Sign up today!

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage through Art

The Art Advisory Committee and the Loudoun County Government invite Loudoun artists to participate in the upcoming Celebrate Hispanic Heritage through Art. This exhibit celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. Any type of 2D or 3D artwork is acceptable. This is a wide-open call for art, with focus on identity, cultural experiences, histories, and backgrounds.

Auditions for Dracula at StageCoach Theatre

Dracula - play adapted by William McNulty. Professor Van Helsing and his brave comrades must hunt down and destroy the profoundly evil Count Dracula. But the Count is exceedingly resourceful, employing superhuman strength, psychic powers, and shape-changing to confound and frustrate his antagonists. Culminating in a wild and shocking confrontation between the King of Vampires and those who would rid the world of him, this adaptation is an action-packed, blood-soaked retelling of Bram Stoker’s classic tale of horror.

Hillsboro Holiday Homes Tour 2025

The Hillsboro Preservation Foundation is preparing for the 2025 Hillsboro Holiday Home Tour and would like to feature a local artist's work to be the image of the tour on all promotional material such as posters, flyers, tour booklet and social media posts. Submissions will be presented on social media for the general public to vote, then the winner will be selected among the top 3 by the Holiday Home Tour Committee. These top 3 artists will be featured individually on social media. The finalist will be featured in a social media post, in the tour booklet and mentioned in the press release for the event. Requirements: 2D artwork depicting ideally a scene of the town of Hillsboro during the winter holidays season. Artists will have to submit a high resolution photo of their artwork to be used on social media for the contest phase.

• Deadline to submit a picture of your original work: August 31st at midnight Social media vote will take place between September 1st and September 3rd. The winner will be notified by September 5th.
