Eileen McGarry O'Keeffe

Eileen has cultured her artistic sensibilities from an early age. Encouraged by her mother and grandmother, she developed her talent and realized her potential as an artist. Pursuing her passion, Eileen received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. She began her career in visual merchandising and later worked in telecommunications marketing to the United States Federal Government, in the Washington D.C. area.

Eileen now devotes herself full time to painting. Her paintings are inspired by the landscapes that have moved her the most, her own native Loudoun County in Virginia and the stunning Western Coast of Ireland. Her style has an impressionistic quality, with a whimsical application of color, lightness of spirit, and refreshing crispness. She paints to capture the beauty of our vibrant world, preserving in her art the emotions inspired by nature and family.  Eileen is a member of the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society.

Personal Statement

Painting to me is a way to express my gratitude for the beauty that surrounds us. I paint and draw to capture the feeling of a beautiful scene or the simple loveliness of everyday objects. I love color and expressive brush stroke and strive in my work to recreate life as I see it . With my work, I hope to help the observer notice that it's the little things in life that make it extraordinary.
