Lake Anna Sunrise, watercolor, by Alice Power Loudoun arts icon Alice Power brings her keen eye and love of life to her watercolors, on display through February at the Visit Loudoun Visitors' Center in Market Station in Leesburg. Power, a former off-Broadway performer and founder of Loudoun's Very Special Arts Program, has devoted much of her life to the dramatic arts of music and theater. In recent years she has added the visual arts to her repertoire. Power says, "I believe in my abilities and often fly by the seat of my pants, where ever that takes me. My passion for my painting comes from the sheer enjoyment that I get from the process."
Living with her family in an historic house near Waterford, Virginia, Alice is inspired by the passing traditional rural life that surrounds her. Her favorite subjects tell a story or evoke a memory. her endless fascination with the world around her is evident in her vibrant watercolor works.
