Loudoun Makersmiths are expanding to a second location.Loudoun Makersmiths are expanding to a second location.

Makersmiths, Loudoun County's maker organization, is working with the Town of Purcellville to convert an old town garage into a community makerspace.  If you are not aware of what a makerspace is, it is a lot like a high school shop, with lots of "old school" tools like wood working, metalworking, crafts, automotive, ceramic kilns, etc, but also "new school" tools like 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, electronics, etc.  The makerspace is a community non-profit organization to help artists, entrepreneurs, hobbyists and students of all ages learn skills and make stuff.  Read more about them, and considering supporting their efforts, on their new Kickstarter campaign.
